I would say a variant of a squash/pumpkin, etc.  We have had a number of &quot;volunteer&quot; vegetables of this sort in the past.  One memorable one was birdhouse-gourds, which took over our entire garden plot, only to leave a number of birdhouse gourds in the fall.  (We didn&#039;t really want birdhouse gourds).</description>
