What is this? The Daily Eudemon is a blog written almost exclusively by me, Eric Scheske. TDE topics include the following (each link is a representative post): Pop Culture Current Events Religion History Family Literature Philosophy Law Humor Drinking Education Technology and Its Effects Idiosyncratic TDE touches on all those topics (and more), but it concentrates on the general social and cultural milieu, including ways we entertain ourselves. TDE's general view about religion and pop culture might best be summarized in this pithy passage. All topics are addressed from a Catholic perspective, but hopefully in a manner that non-Catholics find inviting. TDE’s perspective also tends to be from the conservative end of the political spectrum, but overt politics are generally avoided, since both major parties discourage me. Young ghosts who influence TDE: G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, Hilaire Belloc, Malcolm Muggeridge, Eric Voegelin, Alexis de Tocqueville, E.F. Schumacher, Josef Pieper, Willmoore Kendall, Marshall McLuhan, Albert Jay Nock, Christopher Dawson, Orestes Brownson, H.L. Mencken.
